My car's still on the lift!!

Had my job all planned out. Had my new axle and seal, new wheel bearing and two seals. Figured two hours would be a good goal. Took everything apart, pressed the old bearing out, new one in. Yanked out the old axle, pried out the old seal. Old axle and new axle match perfectly, what could go wrong? Opened the box for the new seal----WRONG FUCCING ONE!!! Had to leave the car on the lift at work all night and now waiting for the right seal.
Moral: Always check parts in boxes before starting.

that sux. are they going to get mad at work for the car still being on the lift?

I always try to open the box on anything that I buy before I leave the store. I got a TV from best buy and when I got home and opened up the box it was the wrong TV!! I was soo mad and then on top of that they almost didnt give me my money back.

**** happens but let me tell u everytime im at work and order parts for my car my boss always got on my case to always match the parts while the delivery guy is still there incase the parts r wrong. it has happened to me before and damn was i pissed. but that only happened to me when they kept sendin' me the wrong auto tranny seal when my car was an auto back in the day. they kept sendin' the wrong seal and caused me and my buddy to bring my tranny down a total of 8 times. i got so damn aggrivated that i just left early to go to my other job and then he calls me up to tell me that the right seal finally made it. the thing was that all the seals that we had gotten looked indentical to the original so i didn't understand y my tranny kept on leakin'??? well it got done and tranny only lasted about 6 months after that and finally gave out. what a POS!

yeah, try finding all the seals for a VE w/ LSD.. I've been to about 15 different parts stores and NEVER get the right one, even when giving them the number right off the seal. same thing w/ transmission bearings.
just go to the delaer and pay the extra few bucks.. and they generally have them in stock. no muss, no fuss.

Napa always gives the wrong seal for the tranny also. I think their data base is wrong for the VE front crank seal also.

99% of the stores out there use national/bca/timken part #s and cataloging which is wrong for the VE.
I use someone else's #s
like nissan

Well, I got the right seal now and am going to finish it tonight. It took two wrong ones and then the right one from the dealer. It's funny the axle from Advance is exactly right but they couldn't even find the right seal.

Auto part stores rarely have the right parts for maximas, especially the VE engines.
