Anyone have a Rockford Omnifi DMP1 MP3 Jukebox?
Amazon.com has these really cheap right now. For those that don't know, its a 20gb MP3 player that you can hook into an aux input. I'd like to put one of these on my new 5th gen. My only problem with it, the control unit is the size of a faceplate. I have the bose system which I plan on keeping, and on the 5th gen, there is no under stereo pocket to place the face of this thing In, and I don't want to stick it in the glove box where it will be hard to reach and see. 1st, does anyone have experience with these, and 2nd, does anyone have one of these in a 5th gen with the bose, and have any pics of where you mounted the face? Thanks in advance.
I installed one in a corolla when a customer brought it in. I had never heard of them before. It worked fine besides the faceplate being hugely enormous. Ive never seen one in all my days in the audio forum here though, in any gen max. If I was going to spend the money on an mp3 player Id get a portable one, that I could take out of the car. I plan on tearing into my console and fiberglassing a flush ipod mount where the ashtray is. I dont own an ipod but I already have a 5th gen buyer if it comes out nicely. If so Ill definitely do a write up, or just make more to sell on the org.
Good luck

I'm really only interested in it because of the price its at right now. There is supposed to be some new firmware for it that makes it a lot more user friendly, and being able to transfer music to your car via wi-fi sounds pretty cool as well. I don't like carrying around an MP3 player. I have a 256mb one I use for working out and snowboarding, but that's not really big enough for carrying my music in the car.

Yeah I know, but I want to keep the stock look. Ive already got some diamond audio components, coax's, and 10" sub, plus a 5 channel ppi amp, from my last car. Those will probably go in the max someday, but I do want to keep the stock look... for now...
Ive had Satalite Radio before and I got rid of it, I never listened to it, I'm not into the mainstream crap, all I listen to are my CD's. It would be nice to be able to load them all in one place. I used to have a collection of over 300, but they were jacked when my 4th gen was broken into. I'd like to be able to keep what I have now in the house, safe and sound.

I've got their home streamer, the DMS-1. Haven't really gotten around to picking up the car piece just yet because of where to put it. If you've got questions on how the thing works or general tech questions, try going to www.omnifimedia.com for on-line support. These were being blown out on www.woot.com at $100 for both the home and car pieces in one bundle.
