I have a 99 maxima and it will do the same thing if the Recirculate button is off with the A/C set to blow air through the top vents only.

What? Unless you have RECIRC ON, you'll always get air thru your top vents as you drive....Get/read the manual, man

It's supposed to blow fresh air all the time. How do you think they keep the car's exhaust gases out of the cabin? The HVAC systems should always bring fresh air into your car. There are direction control air vent valves in your quarter pannels to control air flow through the vehicle. Keeps you from getting killed by your exhaust. Keeping the system off by using the REC mode will also make your windows fog up when their closed.

it is designed to blow through a little...but when your at high speeds, you will feel it more. Internal modifications??...................possible. Just take apart half of your front end...not much

Think about it... when your traveling at faster speeds, more air is moving by the car. The intake for the climate control system is getting blasted with more air, so naturally more air is going to flow through....

(I'm going to feel really dumb if this is a wrong hypothesis)

Yea mine does too, but my air used to only work on fan speed 4 until i replaced the resistor. It costed me bout 40 bucks from a nissan part site and took like 5min to put in. Very simple. Theres a post somewhere about it.

mine blows through the floor vents at high speeds.....the cool thing is at high speeds the fan slows down cause it has so much air moving throug it.....but the little fan thingy still has 4 blades lit up....are they like dual stage blower fans or something
