Junkyard Treasure

Went to a yard way out in BFE Texas (about a hour north of Austin) and found these beauties just sitting there for the picking. Obviously these guys didnt give a crap about the imports in the yard because I got these for a retarded price. Sorry for the crap image quality.

And Ralf......I am keeping them.

Im going to put ss lines on there so I junked the old ones. What brackets? I didnt know I needed brackets off the 300z. The calipers were held on to the hub by 2 19mm bolts and a bracket for the hard line coming out of the caliper.

I think I am going back out there on the next pay day to snag the rears.

I have a 300ZX for sale right now, but in the last two years that I have owned it I have never even seen a 300ZX in a junk yard. Good find - over $100 on eBay. I have a different problem though on the Max. I have enough stopping power (no ABS) and I try to pump the brakes and still slide all over the place when I try to stop in a hurry(running stock rims with I dont know what tires - got the car about a month ago). Will this change with aftermarket wheels/tires (being wider)?

If you use the rears you won't have a parking brake unless you use Matt Blehm's rear big brake kit, the 300zx uses a seperate drum brake as the parking brake.

Put on some decent rubber (doesn't have to be wider) and that problem will go away, you can only stop as fast as your tires will allow.

The lines and brackets are useless for the maxima conversion.

Wider tires make it easier to hydroplane

So there is some sort of bracket he makes to use the cable driven e-brake?

I have the fronts for now. The rears are there for the taking when I get a chance to go back out there. They are gonna be a bish to get though. The car is on the ground with on tire on the rear so I will have to jack it up to pull the parts. Its a self service yard. Matt makes a kit for the rears. I want them all. I think it will look pretty hot with all 4 on there.

Matts kit is pretty involved and is also not real cheap, but if you have the funds/time then go for, I'm all for having a good set of brakes. http://www.mattblehm.com/rear_kit.htm

I think they are. All of the pistons moved freely back into the bore. If they end up being POSes then I will take them to autozone and get remaned ones or just buy the rebuild kits. I will still come out with a good price.
