I bought some supports from Advance auto parts and they require taking out the old ball bearing bolts from the old supports. How do you do this? They seem to be permanently attached to the support.

need a pair pliers or vice grip and pry it out..

 

I tried pliers and couldn't do it. I'll try the vice grip.

 

Return em and go with autozone struts. It's a direct factory replacement. Screw out the old and screw in the new. No need to pull out the support from the ball joint screw.

Noooo, the little black clips pull back and they fall right out. Use a small screwdriver.

 

There are no clips on the factory ones. Only the aftermarket (Advance) have the clips. But my problem is getting them out of the factory ones.

 

I just installed the ones from advance last night all you gotta do is unscrew the ball joint top and bottom and the whole strut comes off then screw the other ball joints in and pop the strut in
