Its a Clarion APA5240, 35x4 + 100x1. Also, anybody know the other Clarion models that were McIntosh clones? Thanks.

I didn't know any were McIntosh clones. I thought it was the Arc amps that have a similar board/layout that the clarions were being compared to? Where did you hear of this?

 

The same company produces both clarion and mcintosh amps. The clarion stuff is mass produced and the Mcintosh stuff is handbuilt from slect components.

This is at least what an article I read stated.

 

McIntosh is under the Clarion umbrella, but its still a totally separate operation...

If anything there 'might' be Mc design influence is some of the Clarion amplifiers and products(drz9255), but that doesn't make a Clarion amp a McInstosh.

 

Clarion owned McIntosh in the 1990's, then sold them in 2003. The amps I am looking for were made during that period and had "PowerGuard". Some models ended in "G".
