Gas Smell Is Gone....... BUT.....

Finally got around to looking into that STRONG gas smell inside my car. Turns out, some idiot drilled 4 holes into the tank, from a previously mounted amp or ground wires. Also the smaller of the 2 hoses was split open.
Anyway I got the tank and the hose changed, When to the gas station, got about $14 in and it stopped taking the gas, That was only about 1/4 tank. So I forced some more in and it came back out. I mean it poured out.

Anyone knows whats going on here?

I later tried to put some more in from a 5 gallon bottle, It took some, then flowed over, then when down very slow. I still haven't gotten it to 1/2 tank as yet.

Any Ideas???

No, the tank was definatly empty, I got it from a junk yard. I put in a few gallons to get it started, then I went to the gas station. $15.00 93 octane doesn't fill us up these days. So It has to be something else.

if i remember correctly, you have a kind of "breather" hose that is on top of the tank and ends up near the gaz cover....maybe it is "clogged" and since air does'nt move freely in it, the pressure from the gaz going down builds and "tells" the gun that it is full

sounds like you're driving the first US car bomb. i'd use a toilet screw plunger thing, stick it in the filler, grind up whatever's blocking it.
