I recieved a call today at work from a guy asking for alteeza lights for his girlfriends car. And I said no. But anyways getting on with the story he said that he had RX300 lights on his car. I asked what kind of car it was and he said it was a "MAXIMA". I was like oh cool. Told him about the forum and he has never known about it. So I told him to go here and stuff. He gave me a site for a magazine that featured his car back in April. So here it is. I havent looked at all of them yet but so far I think its one of the Phatest 3rd gen's out there.

pretty nice 3rd gen

 

Looked pretty good at first. But got more and more rice going through the pages. The rear looks messed up, at least in that photo, the front looks great minus the single wiper.

 

I saw that car at the NOPI Nationals. There, it didn't look so good. The RX 300 taillights don't quite fit. They angle in while the body doesn't, so there's a 2" gap there. Also, the paint is oversprayed badly, the rubber moldings have paint all over them. If he's fixed that stuff, then the car is badass. I think at that point the car wasn't finished. Hopefully that was the case.

 

Looks ok from the front (minus the uniwiper) but the rear just looks awful. The taillights look worse than anything I could have imagined. My favorite part is this:

hmmm, from looking at the interior pix, all i have to say is

Those tails are nasty, the yellow dials would give me a headache, but I love that blue.

What is up with all the exposed rivets, is that a look he is going for?

 

Overall I like the car but I would definitely do without the taillight and the uniwiper.

RX300tails, looks like the rear end is sad or something. The interior, too much yellow for me , but its ok. It wouldve been better if he would have left the so called "boring" stock rear lights in, lol.

 

u took off the uniwiper, tails, spoiler, yellow gauges, and put a 5spd in there. Ellipsoid lights would be pretty phat too with a HID conversion.

Is this really considered a mod I think it recent test these things actually lose hp.

This guy should of stopped a long time ago.He really didnt need to mod the rear.The 3rd gen rear is already nice enough he should of just shaved off the reflector crap on the trunk and left it.He has been looking at 2 many hondas.

The car looks good with the exception of the rear.If it was me i would of left the rear stock or if i was to mod the rear i would have done the skyline taillight convertion.

while i'm not too much of a fan of the rear either, you do have to respect the amount of money dumped into the ride and this guys uniqueness. This max is pretty nice and how often do you see a max with a tailight conversion? I can think of three of the top of my head, Simon, this guy and Rich. So far people have said negative things about all three of their conversions but i don't see anyone else being different. I know it's everyone's opinion and I am not trying to start a flame war but damn people are negative...

What is up with that single wiper? Thats the stupidest mod I've ever seen on ANY CAR. Leave the one wipers to the cars who have them designed in properly. Jaguar, Mercedes ect.....

Hell yeah. I don't like that either. It looks out of place on any Maxima. Besides, I don't think they function nearly as well as 2 blades.

 

No, Just agreeing. I still feel that way, but I am sure other people think it is nice. I still feel the same way but am not going to display it.
