How to replace side view mirror glass

Does anyone know how to replace the side view mirror glass only? Seems like some ******* in whitestone broke my mirror on purpose...

Its only the mirror it self thats shattered. I think its should be a easy replace but if anyone knows how to or has a write up, let me know!

thanks,
Ken

Don't know about the glass itself, but you can get the entire assembly on Ebay for about $60 or so...installing it is easy. If you go that way, I have pictures I can send you directly

You pop the mirror out with a screwdriver and pop the new one in. It's held on with a couple clips in the center. It may feel like it's gonna break when you try to pop it out but don't worry, it'll come out.

kenju4u - looks like you already got the answer, but I just wanted to give you a for your car - it looks clean, and mean. I wish mine looked like that

Is it a 5-spd? if yes, when are you selling it to me?

Hi, Sounbwoy,
I broke the driver's side mirror and already bought one from ebay. I checked the assembly part, it needs three screw to go through the window. I tried to take off the black block which is on interior side, no good. I don't want to use big strength. My question is how to take it off and how to finish the whole work. I'll be appreciated if you can mail me those pictures. thanx!

No special tools I dont remember how to exactly but there 2 screws on the bottom of the door that have to come off. You have to remove the black cover opposite to the mirror I believe but Where you pull to shut the door on the inside there a plug in there you have to remove and there a screw under it.

You definitely can just replace the mirror part only so there is no need to remove the door panel. Tape the mirror up so it would not shatter. Use a flat head screw driver (wear gloves) to pride (sp?) it off where the crack was. Once you got it off, you will see the pastic assembly which hold the mirror in place. Get a new mirrow at dealer ($15.00) or any glass place and it comes with a double tape. That how I replaced mine.

Thanx! Sounbowy! I replaced the mirror just as the instruction you provided, took about 40 minutes. The only thing is, the plastic of the handler has 3 little clips, one's at the rear part, instead of towards the hood, the other two are on front side of the plastic, but not right at the front side, they're on upper and below of the plastic. I had to use strength and made some scratches on the plastic.
