Why do my spark plugs look like this....

I changed my spark plugs out the other day and when I examined the old ones, the center electrode was shaped like a cone. Anyone know why? is this normal?

Are they Pt's?
If so, that's how they're supposed to look.

If they're coppers I'd be worried.

Pt's are denser, so they do not need as much mat'l to do the same job as something that's less dense.

Have you ever seen NGK Pts before? Apparently not.

Yup their fine. Thats how platinums look although I hope you replaced them with more platinums as you might notice a difference in performance as maximas were designed with platinum use in mind.

Actually the coppers have been proven to work just fine. Platinums = longevity. Not performance

coppers are by far better. only reason nissan used plats was the maintenance schedule. longer life, means the less people have to think. until they find out the price.

I got confused because I put copper ones in and I thought the platinums center looked the same as the coppers center, apparently not thanks for clearing that up to me
