Better Power/times JWT or TECHNO?

I know this question may have been asked plenty of times but I just want to double check with you guys.

And since this is the all motor forums the setup along with the ECU is N/A.

MEVI + Bolt-ons. Which ECU would present better times/power?

The reason I am asking is because joosdawg is selling an auto TS ECU w/ 7100 redline which he claims works fine with his 97 manual for $500.

Would I be better off finding a 96 manual ECU and sending it off to JWT for $595 or would it produce the same result?

Probably.

There have been timing maps plotted out etc of both, and they're both pretty close. I'd go with the cheapest route, and since it(TS) has an extrended rev limit, and been proven to advance timing slightly, why not, if it's cheaper?

The only data I haven't seen too much of are a/f plots using TS ... JWT seems to be a slight bit lean in the upper rpms 6K+.

So, cliff notes = same/very negligible difference, so go with better deal.

Anyone know for sure if a 96 Auto ECU would work in an manual 97 Maxima then? Any problems with this other than CELs? Ie. Power loss?

No power loss, but you might have a couple of CEL's.

This is the same question I pm'ed NmexMAX, but someone else might be able to give an inside answer:

Is the ECU programming from JWT/TS different for the MEVI vs. the USIM?
OR: Is the programming the same for the regardless of your Intake Manifold but there's just an extended rev limit.

They don't change the program for MEVI.

I didn't like how the A/f was after the MEVI switched in...it seemed very lean. I had them richen it up after this point.

I should have said the default program for N/A doesn't change anything for VI vs USIM. If you request that they do some custom program that is a different situation.

What were your AFRs before and after the change, and what were you using to datalog the AFR. Did you use a wideband installed in your car or just a tailpipe sniffer?

I had the raised limiter and I honestly couldn't tell you. I got so frustrated with the whole thing I sold it before I could do the tests.

Are you still driving around with the stock ECU?

Alright. So I've pretty much got my heart set on getting the AUTO 7100 TS ECU. Hopefully I get better power delivery. We'll see how much it can bring my time down next summer when I get to run again.
