Where to buy a resonator?

Where are you guys buying resonators for you exhaust. I have an after market muffler, and a aftermarket y pipe. I would like it as quiet as possible. I tried advanced auto and they told me it would take them about a week to get one in. The problem is I need it this week. Please let me know where you guys get good deals on resonators. Thanks.

If you have any local exhaust shops, they might be able to make you one.

summit only had one, and it just looked like a muffler. I want a round style one so it will not have problems fitting in the factory exhaust trac. I checked jegs and they have a bunch or dynomax part numbers but no pics and no dimensions. Does anyone know if these are even the round kind or are they flat like a stock muffler?

so I just talked to my exhaust guy, he said they normally just use a glass pack for a resonator....any comment on this? i would really need to order something today or just get it local. If a glass pack would do the same thing I can get one of those local no problem.

Glasspacks don't last all that long, they're painted steel and the fiberglass tends to deteriorate, reducing effectiveness. Exhaust-shop resonators tend to be punched louvers, a bit restrictive. Try magnaflow or budget, i think they have SS or aluminized resonators with perforated cores and better quality.

Don't get a glass pack. They have louvered cores, which rob power. You want to get a perforated core resonator. Magnaflow has quite a few.

I went to dynomax's site and you can probably find what you need. Just go into the muffler category pick whatever, and at the top select "round body" and they have a good selection.

I also typed in round body muffler into ebay and it came back with a bunch of them. It seems like no one actually calls it a resonator.

he may be going turbo? I don't know.

I ended up ordering one from summitracing, it is stainless steel/polished. It is 14" long and it had 2.5" inlet and outlet, and it was $60 with free ground shipping but I paid for two day so it was an extra 10 bucks
