Ordered my 00VI DEK Manifold..Look what I got...

Well I ordered my 00 Upper Manifold off of a DEK motor and guess what the junk yard sent me ?

An upper manifold from a 3.5 liter motor, the rear valve cover and coil packs. Im waiting for them to call me back but the invioce even said 01' maxima and even written on the manifold was 01 maxima...lol...

Now into the Juicy Question:

any way to use the 3.5 manifold on the 96 motor ?? I have the lower manifold drilled for the 00VI...

any feedback would be great...This manifold is probably better than the 00VI...

Morons.

Anywho the 02-03 IM is better than the 95-99, the redline drop off is far less dramatic, but it's not worth getting it to work on a 3.0. Get refunded.

No one has mentioned the fact that the TB is there, and are very expensive from the factory.... I wonder how much you paid for all this?

If you want your refund, DON'T take anything off of that manifold. I work at a salvage yard and that is one of our major gripes w/ returns. Customers almost always tamper with, take apart, or damage the part or just plain ol' don't send it all back. It has to come back in the same condition they sent it (unless the place you bought it from is lazy and don't really care).

BTW, throttle body's are basically worthless from a salvage yard's perspective, I don't think I've ever sold one.

Try this if hood clearance allows: You know how we make adapters to stick Mallfinder TBs to 00VIs etc...?

I wonder if you could make an adapter for 4th gen LIM-to-3.5VI? I'm sure its possible to do it, but hood clearance would be its biggest issue. At least on the full 3.5 swap, the top of the VI sits very close to the hood (IIRC from reading old 3.5 swap threads), I dont know how close it would sit with it on a VQ30DE.

I say if you got a good deal, and you got the goodies, GO FOR IT and MAKE it work. If you take measurements and a spacer will not fit, and there's no space on the 4th gen LIM to drill the bolt pattern for the 3.5VI (as you already drilled it for the 00VI), then either return it for a refund OOOOOOOR... get a use 4th gen LIM, I think s0ber stillh as his laying around
