Hey does anyone know the specifications of a rear manifold bolt? The dealership has to order it and I'd rather go to home depot and buy it.

 

they are 14mm head i dont know the thread pitch or anything like that

 

I'd be careful with using just any plain old bolt. Nothing worse than having a manifold bolt snap, then having to drill and tap. Just wait on the Nissan one, or beyond having the appropriate diameter and thread pitch, you better be damn certain the new one a) can take the extreme temperatures b) can take the extreme cycling of temperatures c) will not gaul on aluminum d) will not seize e) is of the same grade bolt.

What I'll probably do is take off one of the bolts in the parking lot of Home Depot and bring it in and have it matched. I assume they have the same type of metal used as Nissan?

why do you need to replace these nuts?

also home depot isnt a car parts store

you should go to nissan parts department and order the nuts they cant be more than a dollar each

 

Manifold bolts are very specialized. There are two threaded portions on the bolt. And they run in opposite directions. One side threads into the block, and one side, threads with a nut that secures the manifold flange. If you can even find such a bolt at Home Depot, I'd be beyond surprised.

I was trying to put the USIM manifold back on when I was pissed off with my MEVI and I "misplaced" one of the bolts.

I think I will go ahead and order it even though it cost 3 stinkin dollars!

Does anyone think I could have a leak or anything?
