Auto Tranny shifting at 5k rpm?

The past couple of days i have tried to accelerate pretty hard, the kind that would take the car up to about 6k rpm usually. However, the car will not rev past 5200rpm. I dont understand what is happening becuase a couple of days ago it would rev all the way to 6000 with no problems. It pulls hard all the way through the powerband, but it will just not shift any later than 5200. Anyone know what this could be. I am a little worried that something is wrong, i was already planning on resetting the ECU this weekend, but will that help at all? Any suggestions and/ or comments would be great, thanks.
