Deactivating the keyless entry horn when locking doors

Does anyone know how to deactivate the horn that beeps twice when you lock your door via the keyless entry?

On the back of my fob it says to hold lock and unlock for 2 secs. Mine is a 2001. You can also keep one of the doors open while hitting lock and that cancels the horn.

On my friends 02 Maxima, press and hold lock and unlock for 5 seconds... That will do the trick...

02-03 Press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time until you see the hazards flash. Do the same if you want the horn back.

The fob says to read the owners manual, so if no manual then you gotta ask a buddy. Im gonna try to hold the 2 buttons down and see if that works for mine too. Thanks.

since the thread was answered...

Yes. You can buy new horns and replace the stock ones. Use google to look up where to get new horns. hellahorns is 1 place.

Hmm... do you think that if the directions were on the back of my keyless entry unit that I would have started this thread in the first place. It obviously isn't there. Thanks for the usefull information.

your welcome! some ppl never bother to look first before posting questions. This way keeps all the bases covered.

I would have said check your owner's manual. But then you would have said "hmm.... do you think if I had a owner's manual that I would be asking this question?"

You're so smart. Maybe you should read the rest of the thread. As Team Falken states, the 2002 keyless unit doesn't have instructions as you suggest. And you want to know something else, you didn't suggest that I look in my owners manual to begin with and even if you did, you're right I don't have one. Again, thanks for your insightful input.

and once again, your welcome! If you take a look carefully, team falken posted that after my initial comment.

You haven't been around on the org that long, I would suggest you take comments such as mine lightly because it was a joke and hence the reason why I added a smiley at the end of it for ppl like you who take things the wrong way. Try reading post #11 again
