Aftermarket Alarm

Guys, for those who have DPP package and isntalled custom alarm.
If you don't use your OEM keyfob does the memory setting for seats and steering wheel and mirrors work or do you have to hit your memory button every time you get in the car?

Great, thanks a lot. I'd hate to carry 2 remotes.

I have the Clifford Matrix and it still works, maybe I'm confused but the memory settings go into effect when you enter the key don't they, not when you unlock the doors?

Well you know how you can program OEM 2 keyfobs for each memory setting, so if I open with my fob seat goes to my setting and if my wife opens with hers the seat, mirrors and steering wheel automatically go into her settings.

Oh did not know that one, I guess that's because my wife doesn't get to drive my car much...

You'd probably lose that feature since the alarm bypasses the factory keyless entry. So, you and your wife would have to go back to hitting the memory buttons.

I answered the question in the 6thgen side...

but, you don't program the fobs with the seats, the key holds that info. you can tell by programing one key to your setting, now the 2nd key won't have that setting.

for example, I can program my key to my setting, now if I use my girls key it wont have the setting I programed. this info is in the manual....

Speaking of alarms and keys and such, how well do these keys foil car theft or is it still a simple matter of breaking the lock and starting it up?

That's because you open the car with fob. And if you programed the fob as soon as you unlock it sets to the memory setting fob is programmed to.

I had the Viper 791 for my 4th gen. I paid $500 installed w/lifetime warranty by Don (Pearl96max). I'm planning on getting the Viper GPS alarm next year. check out Directed.com for more info.

the reason I say this is because you can't set the memory of the seats unless the car is on and in park. when you open the car with the fob the car is off..

it must hold the info on what fob opened it then or so..
