Poor gas milage, possible causes?

I have been noticeing that my gas milage is geting rediculously poor. I haven't changed my fuel filter before, never changed trany fluid, and was wondering if this could change the gas milage that bad. I believe its the tranny, but my brother believes its the MAF and a dirty throtle body. Its especially bad in the city. Which could be both nasty tranny fluid or dirty throtle body or MAF. I was just wondering if you guys had any ideas.
Thanks,
Alec

MAF, clean your injectors using BG44K fuel system treatment, run 93 octane gas, clean the throttle body or have someone do a BG intake manifold cleaning using their machine. You can find shops who do this service in your area at - http://www.bgprod.com/

Also, do not drive short trips as this kills your gas mileage (engine runs rich when cold and this kills your gas mileage), don't do abrupt take offs from the light, and keep your right foot out of it. City driving even makes my Maxima dip down to around 22MPG, where normally I am around 26-27MPG with my very aggressive driving to and from work. I get around 32MPG on the highway if I cruise at steady rate- lets say long distance trip.
