2 bolts.... right at the cable.. simple simple.. It's not rocket science, and if you gave it an honest effort (looked under your hood) you wouldn't have posted.

i did look. im really mechanically uninclined tho. i wasn't sure if it was the bolt on the spring, or the tube-like bicycle brake looking thing... sorry again for my ultra noobism.

It's the tube-like bicycle thing..

Loosen it and tighten it, and see what it does.

Don't phuk with the throttle plate spring.

stop flaming me! i know im not the ONLY supernoob on the .org, and im sure that you all have been there too. even you, mr. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! unless you downloaded all the car knowledge you have into your brain via The Matrix...

You can only keep what you have (knowledge) by giving it away.

Wasn't flaming, just said i never saw your write-up. This site has grown extensivley, and back then, there were no write-ups etc... or at least not as spoon-feedish as there is now.

Some of you n00bies need to actually try something before you post...Though there are a select few that shouldn't even touch their cars.

Ok if you look at the throttle body, you know the round thing with the two more round things to the left of it with springs inside, you'll see directly above it a bracket. There will be 2 thin metal wires, the left one closest to your radiator, you know the black thing behind your grille, which is between your headlights, and right behind the fans. It has a "WARNING......" cap on it. Ok anyways, that cable is your cruise control cable, cruise control allows you to not step on the gas pedal while the car is above 40MPH. Well there's another thin cable right next to that one, this is the longer one. There are two 8MM, MM= millimeters, nuts, losen both nuts with guess what? YOU GOT IT. A 8MM OPEN ENDED WRENCH. Not a socket or anything. Once you loosen it pull the cable forward to loosen the stiffness in the gas pedal, and backwards to stiffen up your gas pedal.

*sry about that nmex, im flame sensitive right now.* and thank you harrish for giving me a str8 up answer! how'd u know it was my birthday! lol jk... so i can tighten it to make the pedal stiffer feeling, or loosen it for mushier feeling (like my mom's camry)? again, SORRY I CAN'T AFFORD A HAINES MANUAL. I AM EATING FROM SCRAPS AT THE RESTAURANT I WORK AT. I AM IN DEBT. MY MEALS TODAY HAVE CONSISTED OF MEAT FROM A TURKEY CARCASS THAT HAD BEEN COOKED FOR TURKEY STOCK, AND A DONATED CHEESEBURGER FROM A GOOD FRIEND OF MINE. I AM QUITTING SMOKING TO AFFORD CAR INSURANCE JEEZ. :*( THIS **** HAS ME ****ING BENT UP. every once in a while i'll go to pep-boys and read a hayne's but last time the lady accused me of unwrapping it and kicked me out.

Seems like the brunt of your problems are greater than a loose throttle cable.

High Rpms At Idle!!!

Thanks, HarrisH for the short writeup. So, i played with the two nuts (get your minds outta the gutter lol) and tightened the cable nice and snug, hopped in my car to check the pedals, and it felt like new! but now, when i start the car, it idles crazy high rpms in park! like 3000. i loostened them up a bit to try and fix the idle, now it idles at 1500. i noticed tho, when i shifted out of P and into D, the idle dropped back to normal. I like the feel of the pedal when it was idling at 3000 rpms; it was nice, crisp, and responsive feeling. Should i just use the idle screw method to bring the idles back to the normal 800 and if so, is this the screw on the IAVC valve? is there anything else i am missing or forgot? plz help! thanks again.
