Throwout Bearing for 1995 Maxima GXE

Hey,
I need a new throwout bearing, so I was told... The shifting feels like I may need one, downshifts are unusually rough at certain times... I just want to know if this is the right part.. I heard they were called something different sometime on here, this is from I think Pinacle Nissans site.. thanks

RELEASE bearing, Maxima 95-04 $32.67 $0.00 $24.50
Clutch - Clutch & flywheel - Release bearing

And if this is it, $24.50 is a good price right?? I thought they would be around $50 for the part..

Removing the transmission to just replace a throw out bearing that you think might be had is alot of work or alot of money in labor for something that doesn't sound like the culprit to me.

If you're dropping the tranny, definitely replace that t/o bearing. You've found the right one there in that catalog.

I'd be more worried about bearing wear in the tranny, or chewed-up synchros. The manual trannys on the 4th gen unfortunately like to eat the bearings due to improper assembly. The spalled gunk can add to the friction in the tranny, get stuck in the shifter mechanism, etc. Both of these require a tranny rebuild.
