I had read about alot of the problems associated with the Bose system when i started having problems with mine. I lost sound to the radio stations first, then lost sound completly. disassembled the radio and found a mod sound chip burnt out that also ties into the Reading of the CD. I had the same problems u mentioned before i lost the sound. Err after Err, and at even the slightest bump in the road the CD would cut off, this is from the overheating
of the chip that is trying to burn out. I had to replace the whole radio after having no luck getting the chip.

i had the same error with my head unit

there is no quick and easy fix but there ARE people who repair them (not cheap)

you would be totally better off buying a new head unit and even getting it professionally installed if you want your sound will sound nicer and theres more features...the only thing is now you are gonna have an empty space that will need to be filled because of the size of the stock Clarion head unit.

If you know nothing about cars and electrical work i would suggest getting it professionally installed because with the BOSE system there is an amp in each door. If these amps are not bypassed your speakers will be limited to the volume range of 0-10 which is annoying...anything over that and they will probably blow but it gets pretty loud even on volume 1...ive also heard reports of if its done wrong then the head unit can overheat or something like that but i have never had any problems with it

the main thing for you would be to find a place with A. the cheapest version of the head unit you want and B. a place that knows how to deal with the stock BOSE system......or you could always buy an OEM radio from the dealership for i think it was around $800 can't remember....i was lucky enough to find a place that had both A and B.

I have only had one other head unit which is the Alpine CDA9827 and i would have gone no other way (then again i did have $230 to blow on the nice one even at the cheapest price). You could always buy one from Best Buy or even online and take it to a place too

more info on how to get to remove the head unit is in the stickies and i would also try searching for your problem on these boards...this is the place i found all my info at last year when my head unit died
