anyone know how TPS voltage effects performance

as some of u seem my other threads about problems after taking off the tps and iacv know, when i rev it up in nuetral it hesitates and bounces at about 1700rpms. the dealer pluged in consult 2 and even tho i had no SES light it gave P0505 (idle prblem). the mechanic told me u have to set tps to .5 volts (not 500 ohms as haynes manual states) i was showing .34V, i set it to its original mark which turned out to be .64V and drove ok, not perfect but ok, went back to check and adjusted there to .50V. then came home and saw one screw was loose, so made another mark and VERY carefully tigned it. im sure it didnt move at all, but if it did its still cant be off more than .01, must be at like .49 or something. and only when i rev slowly in neutral i get same problem. anyone know anything about this?

I do not think the TPS should be adjusted on its own at all. The TPS and the Trottle closed switch share the same unit. It is important for the ECU to know when the trottle is closed. The proper action of the IACV depends on this adjustment. Once the proper position of the trottle closed switch is established the learning procedures will allow the ECU to properly regulate things like idle speed, IACV operation which have a profound effect on low end torque and take off smoothness.
