i have none brand bulbs in my corners/clearance lights, its in my sig....umm for me theres no difference...ive used Sylvania Silver Stars and then a none brand headlight bulb n they giv out the same amount of light but they die quicker...

and the 4000w ur talkin about is just the color tempature...all 9004s giv out the same amount of wattage on high/low beams...4000-5000 is lik white...after that it turns to blue till lik 10000k n then its purple but thats on HIDz so w.e

Wow, 4000 watts is a lot, jk. Stick with stock bulbs, you get more light output and they won't die as fast.

Well, I'll tell you, I just bought and installed a set of Piaa Extreme White Plus 9004 bulbs. They costed me $46. and though they are very white, they are NOT bright. The light output on these big hoopty doo bulbs is horse$hit. I'm going to put my Sylvania Xtravisions back in tomorrow I got at Walmart for $24.!!!!! The Xtravisions have the best light output for a 9004 bulb. And there you have it in a nutshell.

Silverstars suck A$$!!!! You can see down the road as long as it's not raining. And you have alot of money to replace them every 4-6 months. I would say at least 75% of people having the Silverstars have issues with premature replacement. Just my .02.

Oh yes!!! Get the Xtravisions. I get the same amount of light on the road when it's wet as when it's dry. I was amazed!!! I can actually see the road at night in the pouring rain..... Walmart > $20. and they beat the $hit out the Piaa Extreme White Plus bulbs I paid $46. for. What have you got to lose for $20. ?

I bought non-brand bulbs on ebay and they lasted 3 months before they went dead.

Xtravisions are great in the rain. Try seeing an eye doctor, maybe you need glasses.....

Well, I'm glad you posted about the PIAA bulbs. I was looking into getting some. But now that I know they aren't that great of a bulb I might just go with Xtravisions. Because the Silverstars look great. But safety is a little bit more important than looks to me. But I had some good luck with the Cool Blue series in my 91 Eclipse. But I don't know if they make a bulb to fit the Maximas.
