All i got to say...."fu@kin Stillen".

The P.O.S. Bosche blowoff valve that they provide with the kit is leaking....it's bleeding off my boost!

Got a HKS Super Sequential BOV on the way.

ET bout to drop again!

You said is was stillens problem. No way I mean stillen is so perfect on their stuff. And cutomer service is great. If you spend even more $$$ like for a supercharger you get special reps that help you with your problems.

Good job Adam. Is that the reason why the belt keeps snapping?

No that is still a mystery...
I think it was just crappy belts (Dayco)...
We'll see how this new GoodYear works out...

I wouldn't rule out a Stillen manufacturing flaw quite yet.
I just have to correct Stillen's fu@k ups one at a time.

So this whole time people have been saying "ah I put this pulley on there with no other fuel system mods". I'm sure you did but the reason why you had to do no fuel system mods is because of stillens shoty equipment. I'm seriously thinking about opening a company to build superchargers for cars. All I need is a good model car. I called vortech sure they supply the vortech supercharger to stillen so I can get the mounting braket and supercharger. Now I'll I need to do is make all the hosing, get the auxilary fuel pump or maybe I wont have an auliary pump and just recommend an upgraded one. Or better yet include the upgraded one in the kit. PLus I would charge less the 4,000 for this thing probably like around 3,000 or lower. Its not that expensive according to vortech the supercharger and braket go for about 650.00. Just my .02

Oh gawd. That means mine is probably leaking also. This summer I hope to do a Blitz BOV, CAI, and pulley upgrade.

you can generally feel the boost leaking. put your hand around the seams when you rev the engine a little. you can feel the rush of air.

Very interesting info, I will be checking mine in a bit, I havebeen running about 2 PSI of BOOST, and have not found the culprit. I had a BLITZ BOV but it was letting out all the pressure into the atmosphere when ever I went from full boost to letting off the gas. the computer would not give gas, and I was stalling all the time, so I placed the Stock Bosch BOV back on and no more stalling. But I still need to check what is causing me to run 2PSI of boost. I have checked for leaks and have not found one yet, I think I need to find a better BOV I miss that sound.

Is the leaking because the Bosch blow-off valve is made up of cheap plastic? I'm not sure whether to get the Blitz or the HKS BV. Which is better? I haven't taken off the BV yet but shouldn't there be some sort of gasket where it mounts to the pipe?

Don't you need to weld on a different flange for HKS BOV?

yup, hks bov has a funky flange. well if you go with any other bov other then blitz you would need to weld a new flange on.

btw, hks ssq will void vortech sc's warranty. just giving a heads up, i bought one and sold it after finding that out.

Stillen voids your warranty for whatever reason they see fit.
It doesnt even take changing a BOV (why on earth would that void your warranty anyway?)...
If you wanna void your warranty...just take it to the drag strip once...or change ANYTHING on the kit...
Shiet...i'm sure they'd void your warranty if you even tell them you've gotten into boost a couple times...

What warranty?

uh... did you read "STILLEN" anywhere in my post??? i said VORTECH, i do not give a rats a** about stillen. anywho, i thought screw the warranty and put the hks on but what if it really does hurt the blower(surges). then i would have to deal with MORE downtime and more stress. so i said screw it and went with something different.

Adam, I just want to say thanks for all of the hands-on repairs and improvements you’ve done to the supercharger kit. I plan on ordering mine in July, and I will get the HKS BOV and Goodyear belt for it. You’re still using the plastic idler pulley, right? I use my car for work, driving on and off for about 6 hours a day, and I’d be paranoid about that thing breaking. Is that related to your belt breaking or not?

i also heard the same thing about using sequential BOV's for the Vortech blower. does anyone actually use the HKS with the Stillen kit? if you use an HKS and have blower probs, Stillen will send it to Vortech and if they ever find out you used a sequential then waranty would be void...
Nullman, i woudlnt recommened you put the HKS one, but if you want by all means do, let us know if you have probs.

What is the difference b/w a sequential BOV and non sequential BOV? Why the warranty issues?

For now I'm still using the plastic idler pulley...
I'm waiting on *somebody* to get the aluminum ones made up..
<cough>phil<cough>
I'm hoping this belt will last a while but if not i'm going to give the GoodYear Gatorback a try...I have that one on order but it's gonna take 2 weeks to get...
If you get the blower DO NOT put on the shietty Dayco belt they give you....my Dayco belts have lasted between about 3 weeks & 45 seconds before falling apart.

my Dayco belt has not failed me yet, (fingers crossed) and I have been to the track a couple of times and ran about 3-5 times each time. I have even hit the rev limiter a few times But my problem is lost boost. I only have 1-2 PSI showing

I would not put a SC on your daily driver.

Well, I really want a “sleeper”, so I got the Maxima knowing that I could get the supercharger kit and have over 300hp. I use my car for my job, delivering pizzas as a matter of fact, and most of the time I drive it really easy, rarely going above 3000 rpms (I’m trying to not waste gas, too). I just want to have the power there for those “special” times, like when the road merges from 2 lanes to 1 and the person next to me thinks they can get around me. I’ll have a surprise in store for them! There are a lot of cops around here (city police, county Sheriff’s deputies, and state troopers all driving around my town), so I wanted something that wouldn’t be a cop magnet. Modifying my car is my main hobby, and the Maxima is my current project.
