Stock 5th gen muffler?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question...but here it goes...

Would a stock 5th gen muffler provide sufficent exhaust flow for an NA maxima? I'm not talking about cams, pistons or cranks.....just your typical bolt ons like headers, afcII, and intake...I'm wondering what loses you will see on the dyno with a stock muffler versus an aftermarket muffler....anybody on here have a back to back run dyno? The reason why I ask is cuz I might be getting rid of my cattman axle back and returning to stock...and would like to know what kinda loses I might be seeing....thanks in advance!

I ran my fastest time of 13.3 N/A on my 2k2 with the stock muffler, the straight through Vibrant did not help any although it sounds pretty good.

So yes it will provide sufficient flow for an N/A Maxima.

there are sufficient gains with just a 2.5 inch b-pipe while keeping the stock muffler. I would think that switching between a aftermarket and stock one would not attribute to much hp/tq loss

I still have my stock piece, and make 225whp @ 6550, so even at high RPM, it still flows well.

I don't think peak hp/tq would differ much between stock and aftermarket b-pipe. Its area under the curve that you will see the biggest improvement

This is what I've gathered from my butt dyno w/ my 2.25" b-pipe and 2002 muffler. The car overall feels like it accelerates more smoothly, rather than having dips and peaks in the powerband.

nice input guys....so its safe to say aftermarket mufflers won't do much for n/a maximas...and aftermarket bpipes gain the most from area under the curve?

MEVI/00VI has been shown to smooth out the tq vurve.

But you have neither, and wouldn't think this is due to the catback.

A DE-K is smooth and linear. Pretty much everything else on our cars is a roller coaster.

Hmm...odd. This is something I noticed the second I began to drive the car after I had it installed. I hadn't done any maintenance work around the time I had it put in, either, so I don't know how to explain it

Anyways, back on topic...

I wasn't calling your post off topic, I was giving a warning for my post, which was going to be off topic.

Sorry for the mix-up.

But I think this topic is dead since it's been answered for the most part.
