I had brought my car in because of a very slow coolant leak somewhere that even a pressure test did not reveal. I left it for the day and then upon pickup, got an 80 dollar bill for a coolant flush and upper hose replacement. Upon looking into the engine bay to find the shiny new black upper hose, I looked under the snorkel piece to find a piece of plastic loom wrapped around my old upper hose.

Anyone familiar with a cheapie hose fix that deals with plastic loom? The reason I ask is because I am going in on Tuesday to yell at them [while the head boss is there] I would like to know exactly what they could have done. I feel douched out of 80 bucks for something I could've siliconed and gotten a flushjob for 50 bucks. Thanks.

Have you tried looking for the leak?

Upper/Lower radiator hoses, radiator itself etc...

 

lol... thats pretty funny... i hope you didnt pay them.... they should have given you a new one not just a loom....

i can take pictures tomorrow while it's light out. I didn't pay them yet. I couldn't find the leak either, that's why I brought it to a mech.
