simple exhaust question
simple exhaust question
does the tip of the muffler affect the sound or loudness of the exhaust note at all? i use to think that since it was such a small piece then it would have no effect, but now im not so sure. someone clear this up for me
Depending on how it is attatched a tip can make a SMALL change in sound. In my experience with a different car it made it a tad deeper. The change in sound will most likely be noticable only to you.
oh, that may change it. but why would you do that? you will completely overrule the change, if any, of the new muffler. increase backpressure, but decrease flow. :gotme are you just being a devil's advocate, or actually considering this? is this some new 'sleeper' look? cuz a sleeper doesn't have to look like junk. the max is already a sleeper as it is. a nice 3.5" tip (or so) will fill out the bumper very nicely.
but yes, that will probably change it significantly. it will probably sound like some kind of whistle with the exhaust being so pressured behind the tip and shootin out so fast!!
