Well check this out guys. I think its actually funny. My max has been sitting for about a week and half. So today I wanted to get soemthing out of it. So I try to use my remote and nothing happens. The funny part is that my door loks are shaved all around so I cant use my key to get inside the car. Plus its cold outside so everything is frozen. Now I am trying to figure out how to get inside. So in the end shaved key locks and dead battery are

hmm....with hondas I remember there being a way to open the hood from the bottom. Well, you'd have to reach under the bottom and find the hood latch. I'm sure you have a lot of room in your engine bay, I know I do.

If you got that to work, you could charge the battery and use the remote.

what is a locksmith going to do? pick the non existant key hole?
your just going to have to pop the hood. its acctually very easy.

 

winter sucks. the whole reason why i shaved the key holes was becasue to prevent theft. Somebody before tried to steal my car by picking the lock so i got rid of them.

well i got the hood open, put some jumper cables and then opened the car. It was my stupidity because i left the head unit on last time i drove it. my head unit is hooked up so that i dont need the key to turn it on and it never on or off unless i turn it on/off. well last time i drove the car which was about 2 weeks ago i didnt turn off the head unit so it drained the battery. stupid me.

but main thing is winter sucks. everything is frozen and cold.

P.S. - How much did it cost you to shave your handles and get everything set up? I need a new driver side lock on my door, but don't want to pay for new locks all around. Considering just shaving them instead.

i did all the body work myself. all yoou need is the rear door handles and make a bracket cause the rear door handles and the front are bolted differently in the door itself.

 

Most locksmith use different tools that under the window (drive or passenger side door) and pop the lock from the inside and not actually pick the lock.

 

Not mine... homeboy props the door open somehow which allows just enough room to toss a hand in there and unlock the b!tch.

or have a back up stashed to where you can hook up an 12v battery and "bam'', your doors open. i guess thats more for fully shaved handles. glad to hear you didnt have to go to far "out the way" to get in your max.

 

Well, once you get it open, partexpress.com have 12v interconnects that can fit on different gauge wire, you need to run a neg and hot where you can access it, like behind the fender trim, where you can just hook a battery to it if you are ever locked out the would activate the locks. Good luck with it. I like shaved handles look but I would dread what happened to you, best be prepared. Carry on........

That's what I do. It could be a stock 95 auto driven by some mom... Completely blends with the background.

well...thats one way to look at it. but the harder it is to break into something the more discouraged someone might be.
if its a "professional" thief they probably know waht they want and how to get it either way so yeah...
but i've never heard of an amature picking a lock either. in fact, i've never heard of someone picking a car lock at all. the locksmith i know uses a tool to get between the window and the door to open the lock, like a slimjim type thing. you can use a coat hanger too.
i kinda want shaved door handles, i might do it too.

 

If the shop that shaved your key holes did the job correctly you'd have access to a jumper terminal.

or keep a wood triangle spaged piece of woo dthat is thick somewhere outsdie teh car.. then when this happens jam hte worrd thing on teh upper right part of your door.. then that creates a gap big enough for you to put itn a metal coat hanger or soemthign to unlock...

im sorry but did u not read the rules of SIGs.. its somehwere in there.. they have to be a certain size.. urs is really big.. i like my car too but ur sig stretches out the page.. and its really hard to see it on my powerbook cause its a 12" screen and ur sig takes up almsot thew whole screen if not more...

if interested I have a vw part number that is a solar panel (Serious) that plugs into your lighter and charges the battery...pm me iff interested and you want pics and the part number.

When you do that, you bend the door frame. Bend it enough and you could F something up, even break the window. A friend of mine locked her keys in her car and anothwer friend from a body shop came by to help open it. He tried to do that but was afraid of damaging the door. Then again, it was only a Toyta Echo.

Oh and another friend of mine has had to do that a few times to his F250. Now the inside door frame has scratches and worn off paint.

I'm fine with my key holes as they are. I don't like to rely on electronics too much. If anyone really wants to steal your car or something from it, they can do it no matter what.

They're definetly not hard to break into. I know this well as my Maxima was broken into this morning. I came out and my left rear window was scattered all over the ground and the back seat.

Interestingly enough, they didn't steal my stereo or anything like that. They took my bookbag which had a calculator, an umbrella, and a thermodynamics text in it. Somehow I doubt that the people who stole my book are the type to use engineering textbooks.

I can't wait to move out of the city.
