does anyone know which are the best air filters to use, should I just switch to JWT POP CHARGER instead?

You don't need to. All the inportant information is either in english or is clearly implied by the numbers/pictures. So you don't know which are the good and which are the bad ones?? Hint. SS steel doesn't do crap to filter air.

But it does look pretty.......

Can you use different cones with the CAI? I just have K&N embedded into my head as the only one available. I didn't realize there were other choices.....Apex, huh?

I would do a search, but it's more convenient to bother you personally.

Since the non-pop cai versions only clamp to the end of a 3" dia pipe, I suppose you can use any filter you wish that has a 3" inlet opening. Apex seems to do a nice job. Something about that extra pleats in the end of the filter. Air directing or something.
