Did ya miss me? (prolly not) I'm back to stay...

Ahh... Let me just say... it feel good to be back with the org.
I passed through a phase when I, dare I say, tried to get rid of my max.

But I couldn't do it.
Test drive after test drive... I thought for sure, okay this is the car I want...
But on that trip home... when that VQ just pulled soooo haaard...
I was like, "man... that was slow..." (the car I just drove I mean).

Reason after another... I couldn't do it.
I test drove a 5th gen and thought "Okay, I could live with this.."
But then as I peaked at the 5th gen, specifically the body, (the nose and tail were blocked by other cars) I noticed that it looked almost exactly like the 4th gens. Even the fender line wasn't that different. Come to think of it, I never cared for the rear end of 5gen, or it's nose. So, done with that.

I didn't like the groove on my 96 trunk lid or the ambers.
I saw a shaved 97-99 rear end at an angle one day and noticed that it had a contour line as well! It wasn't the same, but it wasn't as smooth as I thought....A few days later, I saw a 96 max with smoked ambers and they actually looked clean... and clean is good at my age.

My car had been raised to 4x4 level with GLE springs and struts to trade in or sell... Which I admit, were mush softer and I think I might have gotten used to them.
But while I was getting my rear tire fixed from a nail puncture, the car was jacked from the rear and it pushed the nose down. Man... it looked tight.

That's when I knew. I couldn't sell the max. Nope. Never. Noway. Nohow.
I'm keeping it. I don't care if it's an automatic anymore. LA traffic makes me appreciate it a lot anyway.

So. to all of you who already knew that there is no car at par with our VQ wonders.

I dont know, I was thinking about getting rid of the maxima to get a R33, but then I heard the price of the skyline and I pissed my pants and drove home in the maxima.

if you think that's something, my car tells me it loves me everyday.

Weird, huh?

Its humbling to know that some orgers actually think like me. Would I like a new car. Sure, and I ain’t afraid to admit it but save for serious damage or due to ABSOLUTE necessity……Maxeene ain’t going no where.

Reading about your epiphany with your Maxima was a bit humerous. Anyhow, welcome back, although I have never really seen you post in here before.
