Converting a Non-Navigation Maxima to Stock Navigation

Does anyone know anything about this? I have a 2004 max without navigation, however I really want to convert it to the stock navigation system. Does anyone know if this is possible? Has anyone or anyone you know done this? Yes I know I can always add a aftermarket system that will probably be even better than stock, but I want to know if the stock option can be added or not...thanks

I have checked previous posts and have posted as well and I have never gotten an answer as to if it can be done or if anyone has done it. Nobody posted any details regarding this and I checked all the posts. If you see a post, please link it here because I can't find it

The consensus seems to be that it's so expensive as to be prohibitive. You need a new screen, the drive, the new contol unit and buttons, plus the antenna and associated wiring. I'm not sure if there's a space in the dash under the security LED on non-nav cars for the antenna, but I'm guessing that there is... if not, then it's re-work the dash or mount the antenna elsewhere.

Regardless, if you can get the parts, then try it and see if it works... I don't think anybody's decided to spend that much money just to get OEM navigation, when they can get something equally as good for much cheaper, or spend the same amount of money and get something like the AVIC units that do navi plus more.

Good luck...

you'll also need a new windshield...the nav one is different than the non-nav one. go figure!
