Definate Water pump leak?? (pics)

Definate Water pump leak?? (pics)

well it seems that it is the o ring seals on the water pump that went. im going to go buy one tommorow is the oem nissan the best one to get ? I checked all the hoses and they looked fine.

Not sure why your showing pics of the oil pan, unless your saying that is coolant going through the weep hole on to the oil pan....

sorry man but i would clean that area first then ck again and see if it come's back. also how do you know its coolant and not oil... there is one sure way but i digress....

I see a very dry bottom of an oil pan with a small amount of crud on one edge.

that is all coolant around the edge of the oil pan. I cant find any other coolant besides that and it drips right down onto the floor from their.

That is probably a bad seal, leaking coolant thorugh the weep hole. Had the same issue last year. Pulled the pump and it was fine, just a bad seal. Replaced the pump anyhow. They are expensive from Nissan, paid around $200 IIRC. Later found that NAPA carries a water pump for our cars for about $100.

There only $80-$90 from Nissan. Mine ran $80 from David B at Southpoint. New water pump and seals

i just went to nissan i paid 127 $ for the water pump w/ overnight delivery and and both o ring seals.

you have any tips for me when removing this water pump ? Im scared about when it says becareful while removing water pump, do not allow water pump to hit the timing chain that **** is scaring me : ( . How close is it to the timing chain. Isnt the water pump driven by it ?

Maybe my memory serves me wrong, but I could swear it was much more than that. But this has been almost 2yrs ago

i got mine for 100 flat from nissan, that was my discount anyway.

buddy of mine got his oem nissan water pump for his 96 from everythingnissan for around $80 shipped... local napa had it for a little over $100.

That definitely looks like coolant collected on that edge. As long as any coolant hoses in that area (if there are any, I don't recall) are dry at the joints, then definitely get a new water pump.
