Future Maxima Owner!

Hey guys, I did search through pages for these questions and my search button isnt working.

Well, my name is Jim and I have a 2003 Galant which I will be selling the second its paid off. I really want a Maxima thats a V6 3.5L with black interior. My questions where is there any year I should look for? I wanted something from 00-03 and that has a lot of mods for engine and body work. I am pretty sure I want a body kit even though Im on the horrible streets in Utah. Also, should I just try to sell my Galant on my own because I know the dealer would take some money and would this go the same with looking for a Maxima. Any input would be great.

Thanks

MAF
O2 sensors
suspension tear (control arms, tie rods - inner, shock mounts)
ignition coils (00-01)
brakes

+ the odd gremlins i am having with mine now but i don't know what exactly is wrong with it.

but i know that my front suspension feels like an offroad chevy than a car. this is an interstate car, it's not supposed to happen on something that hasn't seen more than 2 hours of road salt in its life.

weak leather
window power switches (although i think this might be due to passenger errors.. aka evil girlfriend syndrome), but mine broke..
rattle in the right A beam (windshield frame next to the front door)
bose quirks (my sub died, i pulled some crappy nissan harness out of it and hooked it straight, works). head units also die on the 02+

what else.... hmmm ah yes

drivers seat creaks at times
starter noise (failure to disengage in time.. common issue)
failure to start now and then.. might be a 40$ switch, might be not. you can't reproduce it. it happens when it happens.
digital AC controller tends to get stoned in the summer baking you until you let it know you want more cool air.. happens when the car is in teh shade and fails to compensate when you move in the sun. usually a morning annoyance.

those are the ones off the top of my mind. and i've had them go broke on me.

Welcome to the forums and if you want the 3.5L you are looking at either ther 2002 and 2003. I think both are about the same and dont think one is better than the other. I think the only thing i dont like about the 02-03's are the HID Headlamps have a tendancy to unscrew themselves and walk away with thieves... In SLC i dont know if thats an issue but it happens... I would tend to get the 03 because its newer but thats me... As i said i dont think there were huge changes if any from the 02 to 03 years... Correct me if I am wrong anyone... Also you may want to go test drive a G35... I dove one this week and DAMN thats a sweet car!

I just bout a 2003 gle maxima and it is sweeeeeet. I have a friend who is a tech for nissan. He told me not to buy the 2004 because of all the problems they are having with them. So i say stick listen to the tech and go with 2002 or 2003. I love mine.

ya I know I want to say in the 00-03 range. I cant wait till my Galant is gone. IDK if I go through the dealer I get a warranty but still its more money. When I do get this Maxima I will be dumping all my money in it because I have a full time and part time job. I didnt want to do anything with the Galant because its so slow. I dont even care what the interior is as long as its black. So a 03 then . . . . . ?

get an 03 Titanium Edition. Go for one with all the options. I'm still kicking myself for not buying the one on the lot when I got mine. It was loaded with every option plus it was a stick. Had a black leather interior.

^^ lol I wish but I dont have that money. All I want is the V6 3.5L with black interior cloth or leather. I only have around 13.5-14K. I am really hoping my Galant will get 8K but I doubt it. Is there any particular year with more mod options? ect.
