turbo XS UTEC fuel managment system...

the new fuel management system by turbo XS that a lot of 350Z guys are using seems to be very popular...yes it's close to full standalone management at nearly 1000...but on their site it stipulates that their system doesn't advance timing via altering the crank signal like a piggy back...but rather it fires the coils when you want therefore you are putting in actual timing #'s BTDC instead of plus or minus on the factory curve...so I guess the UTEC system doubles as a complete ignition system as well in a sense...

Yeah, pretty sure UTEC directly controls fuel, timing. I think VTC and idle control is planned for the future. Any reason this wouldn't work for 5th gen or 4th gen 3.5 swap guys?

I don't see why not, but there would probably be issues trying to use it on a 4th gen ECU. Alot of people that want to do the 3.5 swap don't want to mess with all that wiring.

well I wouldn't use the idle control or VTC so it would cut out a lot of wiring...but it alters fuel and timing directly which would mean I could deal with actual #'s rather than + or - from the factory curves...and I would actually be able to advance timing....

6th gen cars can use this with a patch harness. Everyone else is SOL without a complete hack job.

Most of them are far too lazy to venture out of their forum.

What makes the 5.5 gen and 6th gen different? Is it the 32bit versus 64bit ecu? Or did I screw something up here

The A34 uses the same ecm connector as the Z33 and they have very similar pinouts.

And as such you can get the patch harness for A34 which means you don't have to start cutting up your engine harness, like you would for A33 or A32 for instance. You can do a cleaner, less intrusive install with A34 because you can cut the patch harness (thats what it's for).
