Redline MTL or MT-90?
Redline MTL or MT-90?
I'd do a search but...well...why go down that road.
I don't have a Maxima anymore but a 06 Altima SE-R 6sp.
So basically VQ35 6sp like all the 5th and 6th gens. The SE-R has suposed "short throw" shifter. In reality...it may be the same one nissan has been using since 02.
At any rate...I want sythetic tranny fluid to smooth out the shifter. I know nissan calls for a GL-4 Fluid...75w85. However, redline is either MTL= 75w80 or MT-90= 75w90.
What to do. I've read 3 options so I want some clarification.
1. Use MTL.
2. Use MT-90
3. Mix both MTL and MT-90 to get a mixture near 75w-85
I'm in Buffalo, NY so I get a wide range of temps. Reading the sticky in the lube forum here someone said use MTL if it gets really really cold. However, this isn't northern Canada. It rarely goes below zero. But we do get temps up to 90 in the summer.
Looking forward to the benifits of sythetic in the tranny.
