Basically what im putting together is a list for all maximas we can use as a resource that I will keep updated within the thread in the 1/4 mile section here on the org.

Its fun and its nice to have a quick resource that is updated and simple to use to see what your friends are running, heck, i use to print out the little sheets like this and would take it to the strip with me just to see if i could move up in the ranks.

Just alittle something to have fun with and to use as a resource to see how the maximas run as a whole. Prefer you add a timeslip in the thread for your post but its ok if you dont.

Hope to see some 6th Gens post up !

do you guys with the 14.3s have manual transmissions? I have an automatic and my best time so far was a 14.82@93. This is stock with the spare in the trunk still.

Just because there is room for driver error and not everyone can shift perfect.

 

Im sure I will find out shortly after I take delivery of my car tomorrow. Whenever I can squeeze a test and tune night into a friday night.

I don't mean to knock the 6spds' skills. I understand the margin for error (this is my first auto), but 5AT = 6MT in drivetrain lost? If not, then a perfect launch and shift can take a moderately stock 6MT in the high 13's?

 

Nah, no stock 6 speed is gonna run 13s. These cars trap about 97 tops in stock form, most trap around 94-95 with 96-97 being the acception on a perfect weather day. Last time out I couldnt even come close to the 14.3, it was pathetic.

 

Hmmm...can't wait until it's cold again. I had this "bone stock" record for a long time with my GTP. Not to say that I'll touch it with my Max, but I'm looking forward to trying. There have got to be more cars than those listed in the Top 10, and SSurfer isn't even listed. Anyone else have times?

 

14.725 (5speed) @96mph..... elevation 900ft above sea level and it was 70 degrees out...... ohh & stock......waiting for sts to give me a call or reply to email and hopefully be the first 6th gen to hit high 12's mid 12's

 

Wow...I can't believe the Maxima stays right there with the g35 coupe 6mt.


This was 2003 g35 coupe 6mt best time..First time at track.


Best run was:

60' - 2.112
1/8 - 9.262 @ 76.33 mph
1/4 - 14.342 @ 97.77 mph

 

not too sure but don't we have the same engine..... ohh I forgot to add I had about 250lbs extra in the trunk when I ran this time.... sure I could get at least 14.5 or less...... makes me happy n me pants.....

 

Yeah, same engine but theirs is rated at 298 HP with the G35 coupe 6MT. I'm not sure how much of the rated difference translates to a real world diffrence though.

 

This is my 6th Maxima and I have to say, this is by far the fastest SE yet!

Sorry.. have not had it to the track though.. would like to someday.

POST 2 - sorry.. trying to fill the odd 15 reply rule so I can post my actual question concerning my 06 Maxima.

 

I ran 14.259 at 97.8 with a six-speed.Only mod was a AEM intake. NOTHING else. I haven't been back to sthe strip yet but I will get it into the 13 teens with nothing else. I have the slip also.Aron

 

can somebody please with post there slips thats in the low 14's just so i can prove to ppl i work with its true.

It's similar but not the same.

 

Don't forget to consider sea level and DA "density altitude" IE..quality of air vrs. level above or below sea level, when considering the times each of you/us run. My old SS Camaro ran 3-4 tenths faster in cold dry air, than in the summer with 90's temps and high humidity. Same for sea level...we ran 3+ tenths faster at No Problem Raceway outside Baton Rouge LA at sea level vrs. 750 ft above here in Tulsa.

DA is a huge factor in what kind of times a car will run. There is such a thing as negetive DA..IE some LS1 powered cars have run rediculous times, untill you determine that the air was so good, and the track was at or a little below sea level, that it simulates air quality compared to a track -1000 ft or even -1700 to -1800 ft below sea level. That will make a car run well beyond it's mechanical specifications and will react like the HP rating is way low.

Look into this...it is better explained by pro's. I just know that we always watched the DA meter in bracket racing to determine our next round dial in.

Hey guys I have a 05 6MT and I've raced auto 6th gens before on the street (please dont ban me again for 3 days) but anyway, I would easily put a car or two on them by the time we hit 60. All i have is aem intake and years of experience on launching fwd. So if autos ran 14.3-14.7 i would assume i should be able to hit 14.1 easily with 6mt. Some day i will go to the track and definetly post my slip. Just gotta figure out how i can leave work early on friday.

 

He Nitrous! Go and do it! The AEM intake is all I have done and I went 14.2 on my third pass down the track with this car. I know I will hit 13 teens also! I have been racing high powered front wheel drive cars for 17 years. They are difficult to launch but once you get the feel you can launch alot harder that people think you can. U know that!! I have holeshotted many cars. I am on a mission to get it into the thirteens with just an intake. Lets see who can get there first!! Aron

 

I don't understand where you guys are getting these assumptions..... I have yet to understand this concept..... 5speed auto in tiptronic shift left alone will shift itself at redline 6500 rpm while 6 speed will shift when you tell it to maybe at most 7500rpm... when I race I put it in tiptronic and leave it.... no shifting.... it shifts at redline.... I have about 300+ lbs of stereo equipment and tools added to the car and run 14.7 at best..... this weekend I will remove my subs and remove my tools to check the difference.... I think there will be a huge difference..... I will post my time slip on sunday or monday..... not to mention there is no room for human error when racing this way..... no shifting lag because the car does it..... I have also ran with doing a power brake at 2500rpm and one at 1700rpm..... 1700rpm worked best concidering no spin out of tires and my reaction time was awesome....

 

Well, R/T has little to do with your time, but if you pull a good 60ft, you should run a great time. With 300 lbs less in your car, the thought is that you'll run 3 tenths quicker. And a power brake a little higher than 2000 should do. Just when you let go of the brake, don't hit the gas pedal anymore until you feel that the tires have grip...then jack it down.

 

Reaction time has nothing to do with the rpm you launch at. You might be thinking of your 60'. Edit: Treed.

po8pimp...I used that method when I launched my GTP, which was quite a bit torquier than the Max. It worked really well. Let us know how it goes. I can't wait to get out to the track.
