PM pearl96max and see if he can get you into something nice from DEI. He is in Jersey and has his own shop/is a dealer of many car audio products.

newb question on alarms...does "code hopping" prevent laptop hacking? I would assume so.

Big newb question but what does DEI stand for? I'm looking around for a good alarm with remote start (I'm a 6 speed) but I'm not sure what do go with and where to go to get one. Thanks fellas

DEI = Directed Electronics. Manufacturers of Viper,Clifford,Python,Valet,Avital,etc...

www.directed.com Although youll be hardpressed to find a dealer to install them on a manual tranny, not to mention installed correctly.

Don is awesome at these alarm installs I strongly suggest you do it through him. He knows Maximas backwards forwards and inside out.

Somehow, I have a feeling there won't be a problem if Kevin installs it. From his contribution on the org, he's probably one of the rare CC installers I'd let work on my car.

+1...we talk about how bad BB/CC installers are in general. I have left my car for a whole day with no worries and I plan on doing it this week for my 3.5rs install.

I have faith in Kevin being able to do it. Besides he knows he can call me if he has a problem.

Rich what make and model did you buy? Also where did you buy it? I really want to upgrade my headunit to something nicer but I wouldn't dream of doing that until I got a very high quality alarm. I really like Chris' (filtor1) alarm and he mentioned something about yours being nearly identical. I want something like that with an lcd/led screen, remote start, etc. all of the goodies. What models of clifford, viper etc are comparable to yours and chris'? Anyone feel free to pipe in if you know of a make/model with some of these features that I'm looking for. Thanks

^ Yup.....
Feel free to pm/IM me about em. I do em all the time.

The only difference between the Clifford RSX3.5 (that Rich is getting) and the Viper 791XV (that Chris has) is Clifford has a carbon fiber remote and a digital shock sensor. Both made by DEI.

P.S. Thanks for the ego boost guys Believe me Nilesh...in this town, CC is my best option right now. And in the summer when this sh!tty college town is dead and Im sitting on my @ss at work, Im still gettin paid

Rich has seen some of my fellow installers at my store and understands why I won't let them near my car with a 10 foot pole. No hard feelings if anyone hates on other CC installers.
