I have noticed that my backup lights are not coming on when I put the car in reverse. I recently had my tranny rebuilt and wondered if anyone knew if there was something that they might not have hooked up when they were working on it. All the other lights work fine so I don't think it is a fuse.

It is a 5-speed if that matters.. Any ideas?

 

Maybe the bulb blew?

 

kind of doubt both bulbs blew that close together but I can replace one and check

 

Turn the ignition to on (don't start the car), put the car in reverse, take a voltmeter and see what you got. Otherwise, check the switch/harness on the tranny.

Edit: Didn't notice you haven't tried checking the bulbs yet...

If you checked the fuse and that's still good then the only other real thing it could be is that the bulb blew out.

 

short in the wires, fuse, bulbs, oxidation(?) check all these things
