hmmm is the stealership supposed to charge to fix a tsb???

i have an 01 and pulled a P0420...thats the 3 way catalyst, but there is a tsb that says the 02 sensor does not need to be replaced but that the ECU needs a reprogram. I made sure to check and see if it applies to my particular model and it does...

i went to the dealer and they wanna charge me 200 dollars to get the CEL off...there is nothing wrong with the car so i dont see as to why i should throw away 200 dollars for no reason...

arent they supposed to take care of TSB at no charge??? im not quite sure but im just under that impression. any opinions

thanks

Only if you're still under warranty.

Nope... TSBs are not like recalls. They will only pay for it if you experience the problem while under warranty. Theres no special exception for TSB issues.

Technical

Service

Bulletin

Where do you get FREE out of that? If it was a Recall, it would be called Recall not TSB. Only purpose is to provide technicians a resourse ofr know possible problems with solutions. When your warranty expires, it expires.

They will always charge you for computer diagnosis. I'm sure your Gen has a Sticky on how to remove the light.

The dianostic fee at the dealer should only cost $85 dollars (at least that is the standard rate around here). The fee is applied towards your service total if you decide to do the service at the dealership
