since the tracks are closed....

and I can't really enjoy my car in 20 degree weather, I might as well go play around on a dyno. Going this Saturday at noon. 12psi on the JWT ECU to see what type of power that is. If it is 350whp or less than I will get a 13psi WG spring and run that daily. This will make me decide if I will stick with the JWT ECU or go a different route this spring. I want everything set for some track days in April.

MF'er, The spring I got that was supposed to be .8 bar (Big Red) is not, it's a .4 bar (small red). I could combine my .7 bar (big yellow) and my .4 bar (small red) and run at 1.1 bar....I think not though. Will probabl dyno anyhow since I was looking forward to it, but with the stock ECU on 9-10 psi instead. **** like this always happens to me. I had a feeling when I saw the spring that it wasn't right but it's been so long since I saw one out of a WG I just took the guys word for it.

Very strong showing for the "mafioso car" (as the dyno operator dubbed it)... I'll let mike post the numbers after we watch the vids.

These pulls are from the same dyno I have used since the turbo install www.svspower.com.

Stock ECU @ 9.3 psi in 3rd gear.....359 whp & 344 wtq

Stock ECU @ 9.3 psi in 4th gear........375 whp & 350 wtq

JWT ECU @ 10 psi. Red is 4th gear and blue is 3rd gear...... 310 whp & 301 wtq and 301 whp & 288 wtq respectively
[

All on video which will be up later tonight or in the next couple days. Here are a few pics though

375 whp @ 9.3 psi

This is insane. Is this a record for single digit boost?

And yeah, tell JWT to shove it.

I've got to think it is, by a significant margin.

By the way guys, this shop is absolutely awesome in every way. Sweet setup, tons of SICK cars (and I mean cars that put out more HP with half their spark plugs missing than any maxima does) everyone there was the nicest ever. Ron Jr. (the owner's son) was showing us what's cool about most of the cars in there, volunteering what's unique and what's planned for each car without us even asking. Let us use the dyno for almost two hours and only charged for 1 hour, as many pulls with wideband as we wanted, etc. I was thoroughly impressed. All they requested was that we not take pics or video of the setups as some of the owners want to keep things on the DL.

Congrads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats a monster # with only 9.5 PSi. What was your goal, 400hp? 12 psi spring and you might be there.
Why can't you drive that thing in he winter? Mine runs like a scalded dog in the cold. You dont have snow all the time do you?

Nice numbers Mike. Did you get the auterra and datalog timing? If so, what are you seeing with the SAFC corrections?

Ron Jr. is the bomb. Last time I was there, we dynoed for two hours for something like $75 and he even let me run it so we could try and put down better numbers. He's a nice guy. I want to go after hours sometime soon and bring a six pack.

Did he show you the Viper Run Files?

He wanted 375ish he just figured it would take 13psi or so on the JWT to get him there, he didn't think he could get there on stock timing.

You can't drive in the winter here because of snow and cold. You can drive but you can't "drive" if you know what I'm saying. What's the point of driving your car if you can't hook til 4th gear because you are on summer tires and the pavement is 10 degrees...

Congrats Mike, those are great numbers! Are you going to be running some sort of sticky tire when you hit the track?

not bad....not bad at all

ive never fully understood all the dislike for jwt. is it that they pull a **** load of timing to be to safe or is the tune just crap across the board

Because the last time he dyno'd it was in third gear as well and we wanted a direct comparison to last time. Obviously things change on a rolling dyno for turbo cars because the load is significantly different in higher gears, thus you get quicker spool like is evident from these dyno runs.

Also, we had basically all the time we wanted to do all the runs we wanted, but since he wasn't making any tuning changes there wasn't much else to do besides swap ECU and try both 3rd and 4th to see how much the difference would be. After we left we realized that mike should have tried to dyno with his cutout closed, to see the difference it made but we forgot to.

Their timing is like those mothers who walk their kids to school until they graduate highschool, or those who never let their kids leave their sight or play sports or ride in a car without full protective gear. There's "safe" and there is "asinine" and in my opinion, the JWT timing falls under the latter. This ECU has enough timing pulled that you could probably run 20psi on it and not have to worry about timing - but you'd run out of MAF and fuel though.

So are you planning on keeping the stock ECU mike? Are you worried about the timing being too aggressive for nigh 10 psi?

do you know if JWT uses the same timing thru the rpm range for your turbo ecu as they use for the supercharger tune? Just wondering because I am getting ready to get the s/c program, but I don't want it if I am going to have to take massive losses. The reason I ask is because there are supercharged guys who have made more power than you did on 10 psi on the JWT ecu.

Congrats on the numbers!!! That's awsome!

I don't know if they do or not. I find it hard to believe that JWT would go out of their way to do something different between the two, given their lack of attention to the tunes guys like Mike and Mardi are getting.

I thought Jay25 put down around 320 on the 3.25 pulley.

Very nice numbers Mike. Can you run 9.3 PSI, stock ecu & timing on pump gas without detonation?

Ok, I don't know what the fuc is going on. I tried to make another long post anwsering everyone's questions but it did not go through again. I will just post some comparison graphs once I get the run files from SVS.

How many psi is that, I don't know what pulley size makes what psi.

3.25 makes about 9-11 psi. Depending on Blower condition, Air filter location and such

He's been doing that for months now.

The only reason he put 100 in was that we were thinking of messing with the boost controller to raise his boost if the numbers weren't where he wanted them to be, but turns out we didn't need to raise the boost at all.
