Any thoughts on Burgundy colored 2002-2003 Maxima
Hi everyone. I crashed my 1999 Maxima SE-L 5 speed last Friday. I thankfully made it without any injury at all, but my poor Max is a total loss
I want to buy the 2003, and I missed a blue one, 6-speed fully loaded with Navi and 25K. The owner was only asking $17,500! I was supposed to go this morning and get it, but it sold on wednesday. I am still hurting because that was a steal deal. The only other Max I saw was a Burgundy/Maroon SE 6-speed, 2002 with everything but Navi and HLSD, 19K and asking only $15,900. Great car, great mileage, but I really want either graphite gray, titanium, or blue. Any thoughts or opinions on the Burgundy/Maroon color?

that's the color you're talking about, right?
Yes, that is the color. I definetely don't think it's a bad color, I guess I am so set on blue, graphite gray, or titanium, but it's hard to find anything with a 6-speed that has decent miles for a decent price. I don't think I should pay over $20K. Ughh, so confused about whether to fly out and chk out the car. It's in Billings, MT, I live in Chicago. The good thing is I work for United so flying out is no problem. Hell, I bought my 99 Max in OK City.
I say stick with what you want, sometimes it easy to lose site when your lookin. I almost bought a max with just a front lip that was ugly and a muffler cause i was having trouble finding 6 spds. I waited and found what i was looking for for cheaper. I like the same colors, that maroon is definately nice, but i couldn't look at it everyday.

It`s a nice/rare color, you hardly see to many outhere, however it`s stand out more(imo)so if you like it go for it, but like Jace1283 said i wiould stik with what ever you had in mind, after all it was there for a reason..
Jace, that's a fantastic color. I don't remeber seeing that one before. Maybe I am pushing it too much trying to immediately replace my car because I am so pissed! A good piont was made I have to look at it everday, and although I don't think the rosewood merlot is an eye sore by any means, I know I will probably be wishing I looked more for the other colors so I should probably give it a couple weeks. I want one really bad because I read so many reviews on this model, and everyone loves them. Who wouldn't like 255hp and a 6-speed.
I would keep you eyes open for what you really want. The Merlot is a rare color, but if you aren't in love with it, you won't appreciate it as much when you climb in the cockpit. If you can arrange transportation after your accident, take at least a week or two to evaluate your options, especially if you can fly anywhere to pick up a new car!
I spent about 6 months looking for my 03 Max and I don't regret it. I love climbing in mine every morning.

I spent more than 3 months looking for mine, then again I wasn't in dire need of a car like you are right now (w/o ur Max). It's better if you wait it out you'll be the happiest with your decision in the months/years to come.

dont settle, with a bit of effort you can get exactly what you want. although i think that maroon is one of the ugliest colors for cars (along with green, purple, and yellow) our max looks phenomenal.
I like the merlot. But in Boston it's not a rare color at all. See them everywhere. For some reason I don't see gacier pearl (white) very often and of course my polished titinaum is another color i don't see very often.
