FSTB avaliable for a VE?

From what I can tell, there are no strut tower bars avaliable for a 92 SE. some posts on alt.autos.nissan.maxima also said such things.. But mentioned that Courtesy may have had one avaliable for the VE at some point in time. Just not anymore.

I checked the courtesy website, I checked ebay, I googled, i checked stillen... if i had a GXE, i'd be good.

Any tips? Should I just buy some aluminum tubing and have at it?

I believe either the 4th or 5th gen FSTB could be used in place.

Ok, I had heard that the 5th gen works if you flip it upside down, but that the bolts didn't quite fit... or something.

Can anyone confirm or deny?

You can use a 5th gen bar...You have to bend the a/c line and the bracket on the passenger side strut tower down a ittle to get it to fit .....

Yeah its nice...I was kinda surprised that the bar is actually pretty well built...IIRC i paid about $35 for it, it clears the hood fine.
Here is a shot looking across it...

I've got the courtesy bar on VE. I've bought 2 5th gen bars though, one for a friend with a 5th gen and another for my '89. It fit both without issue.

buy the OTTO 5th gen fstb and you will not have to do anything but bolt it on...no moving of the AC line or anything else. It has the straight up brackets (where mygreenmax94's has the bent brackets) so it clears everything (hood, ac line, manifold etc.). It is more sturdy and looks nicer than the cheaper ones imo (I have had both). it is a little more (around $50) but is worth it imo.

Look on my 93 site if you want to see it and how well it clears...oh what the heck here are the pics

I've got /had the same bar as greenie, it did jeep the rear of my hood up a little bit. I didn't have to move my A/C lines on the 7/91 VE I had.
we'll see on this next one

The OTTO looks a little flatter, but it also looks as if there's more clearance between the bar and the intake manifold... I may as well get one and see

It stiffens up the front suspension by connecting the 2 strut towers together thus giving the other tower its strength when hard in a turn...

I have the cheap 5th gen ebay bar and it sits on my AC line, but there is about a half inch of foam surrounding the line and I haven't had a problem. It has been on there for three years now. I think I spent <$25 including shipping for it. I think now I would probably fork out a little more for the Otto bar, though.

Yes, Otto is the brand name. I'm getting one in a month's time.

Vibrant also makes one for the VE if I am not mistaken.
