Bose just ate my CD...
Bose just ate my CD...
So I just bought a new cd. Took the old CD out of slot three and was putting the new one in the same slot. It took the CD, but then it said there was no CD in slot three. It acted as if the door on the CD player was open for too long and closed automatically.
I've tried almost everything just shy of removing the unit itself and dissasembling it just to get the CD back. Is that my only option?

when u eject do you see that it is trying to shoot the cd out? I get probelms with my pioneer when i buy new cds. It pushes it out just a little so that it peaks out. just grab a pair of needle nose and pull it out. Or my cusin thought of the idea of taking another cd and while its ejecting just put the other cd in and wiggle it around. If that doesnt work...yeah.. ur gonna have to dissamble the thing. good luck
Just a shot, have you tried the "eject all" function?
i.e. - hold down the eject button for a long(er) period of time and all the discs should spit out.
Dunno if it'll work, but hey, it's worth a shot.

In response to OutMaxxed: You know when you press the eject button and it asks you to select a CD? I don't have the option to choose the number it went into.
Alright, I just tried the "Eject All" function. Nothing.
I did try to insert a CD into the said slot. It hesitated a second then I just barely caught the message "CD 3 Error". So it obviously triped itself and is thinking backwards. I guess I'll have to take it out and take that bastard apart, huh?

Yeah, I just walked back in the record store and said I opened the case to find no CD. Got a new one. Your probably thinking "Oh, that was ****ing cheap of you". It was a major record store, the kind that has inflated prices... so I didn't feel too bad.

This happened in my friends 02 Max.. In mine also. We had to take it apart, But mine still wasnt working, but when we did his, it was working. I just went aftermarket after that, But my friends own work. So try to take it apart, just make sure you put the screws back, dont have a extra one laying around all of a sudden lol
Silly question, but I'll ask!
Is there ANY possibility that you might have put it in upside down? I have wondered what would happen if I did that?
Just curious. Thanks for the 'eject all' idea, I didn't know I could do that either!

MaxFanatic: Eh... This unit has given me so many problems I'll just wait till I'm ready to go aftermarket and get it back.
nicks79: Haha, that reminds me of some toy I used to have. It was a gun that shot disks. Sometimes I wish there was such a feature for backseat passengers.
MAXJersey01: It was a local rock group (On A Dead Machine, check em out). Don't blame ya about country lol. What little techno I listen I get it for free.
4MySwee: I'm positive lol. I've wondered that myself, but it would probably just say disc read error. After last night I'm not in the mood to be the guinea pig.
Eh... oh well. Thanks for the responses anyway, guys.
