Recalls

Were there any recalls on the 95s????? I have been having starting problems like really slooooow starts, long sluggish turnovers, and then nothing. it would not start . so i thought it was just my battery because it was old and just worn out i guess i knew it wasnt the starter i just replaced it. So the other day i went to auto zone and got a red top optima battery to try it out and see if it would remedy the problem. It did but 2 days later it was dead and would not start AGAIN!!!!! So i guess the only big thing left to check is the alternator right? or could it be something else????
Thanks for any help

I second that, alternator, and there were alot of recalls for 95 listed in the stickies. Hopefully you didn't kill the optima, I would charge it completely, then disconnect to put in alternator. Good luck with it, I would put a new belt on the same time if it is worn out.

Go to autozone let them test your battery and alternator to figture out which it is.

According to NHTSA, there are no recalls for the '95 & '96 Maxima's.

The alternator recall starts in '97.

Use 10 tooth starter on those early made 95 maximas. Also it would be a good time to test the battery. They have a bunch of diff starters I believe the original is an 8 tooth. The newer version has 10 and they even have 12. I upgraded to the 10 tooth one. Better for our flywheels.
