But today as I was washing my Max, I noticed a quarter sized bubble on the passenger side backdoor. One of those bubbles that will continue to grow and peal until it encompasses the whole door. I ordered my Max and recieved it on March 28 - the day it arrived at the dealership. Since then I have had a few very minor chips, but nothing to get worked up about - until today...

So I have had the car for 3 months and now this ugly a$$ bubble appears. My question is this - I think, but am not totally sure, that the Nissan dealership told me that they apply an application that GUARANTEES the car will be protected against bird droppings, acid rain etc... for the first 6 months (this is on all new cars). I'm fairly certain my case is bird droppings since there was some on the window above this spot. Does anyone know if I'm right about this "guarantee" because I'd like to mention that when I take my car in asking them to re-paint the whole door.

Thanks,
Mike

This happens because the paint has less lead inside in it. They did this because the ministry said they have to because of the environmental issues. So it chips and other deffects, or thats what I heared!

they apply teflon coating/sealer onto ur car...this is not 100 percent protection against bird dropping, etc. they just slow down the process of melting ur paint. I have it too and bird drops do leave a mark on my clear coat if I dun clean it fast enough.

about the paint peeling on ur door...those should be factory defect.....I think TimW had the same situation too....do a search and check ur dealer for repaint.
