any straight through muffler will sound good with the factory exhaust. its deep and mellow, and really quiets down as the rpms rise. you can unbolt the stock muffler to get an idea of the sound, but it will be less deep and slightly farty. and moderetly louder especially around 2.5-3k rpms. i had a straight through muffler until i got a y pipe. then i put the stock muffler back since it got way too loud. i have a few sound clip on my computer, maybe i will upload them some time.

hey thanks. i already have a straight throw ebay piece of shizzle muffler (it already has a little hole in the bottom of it from bottoming out on somethin). it sounds alright, but i wish it didnt cut out at high end. im probably going to replace it with an oval magnaflow muffler w/dual wall tip that will look better, i might also get a different resonator installed, like maybe use a flowmaster muffler for the resonator. does anybody know how loud this will make my car?

I've been accidentally running without a muffler for the last couple of months (midpipe broke - no money to fix) and from the outside, I can tell you that it sounds really really good. But from the inside, it gets a little annoying.

So I wouldn't worry about a muffler being too loud because the cats and the rest of the exhaust do a pretty good job of muffling the exhaust already.

Most people do the 40 series Delta Flow right? I read on the flowmaster site that the 60 series should be used on sport compacts. Even tho we arn't a sport compact I was wondering if the 60 Series Delta Flow would be better.
