Did you cut your bump stops?

I riding on Eibachs & AGX's.

Did you guys cut your bump stops for the fronts?
I didn't and I'm thinking maybe I should.
How much and from which end (tappered or wide end) did you cut?

I think you should cut your bumpstops. I am not exactly sure how much to take off however. I don't think you are supposed to take anymore than around 1/3 off. BTW what is: Dual Switch Drop Mod?

It's just the regular drop resistor modification with two switches.
I guess most people usually only have the drop mod as an interior switch or as a WOT switch.
I have both which work together.
Basically, in order to activate the drop mod, I flip the switch inside the cabin and then go WOT.
Only then does the drop mod actually activate.
It doesn't do it if I simply go WOT or if only the switch is on.
They both have to be activated.
(acutally.. i'm deactivating the resistor but you get what I mean.)

Two switches... Dual Switch Drop Mod. ;-)

(BTW, I haven't used it since the week after install... heh. There are no gains, just easier on your tranny, if that... probably doesn't do anything for me since I'm not FI. It's supposed to help reduce wear on your auto tranny when you have big TQ. I think I did it because it was one of my first mods that I could do. Made the car "mine")

You DEFINITELY need to cut the bumpstops if you are using the ones that came originally with the OEM shocks. I think either Eibach or Koni makes a progressive rate bump stop that is relatively soft. Those are the ones I have on my car -- and for those I still cut off about a half inch.

If you are using OEM style bump stops, i must say those things are INSANELY stiff. It would not surprise me if the equivalent rates on the oem bump stops were well above 500LB.IN. Consider that your Eibach springs start around 155LB/IN.

With Eibachs and OEM style bump stops, you probably have maybe a half inch of free travel before hitting the stop. By the time you sit down in the car, you are practically on top of the oem bump stop all the time.

go ahead and trim them, since its always recommended.

you can drill holes in the bump stop to make it softer.

Is it necessary to cut the bump stops if I'm planning to put H&R springs/w Illuminas?

I have the KYB Boots.
