This has been discussed b4 but are 95-96 and 97-99 exhausts interchangable?

yes, you just need to weld the o2 sensor bung in the b pipe.

lets say for example, what happens if I just dont use the 02 sensor on my 98 max...i just unplug the o2 sensor and i put tape around the 02 sensor connection and just leave it hanging there ? .. nothing will register for the o2 sensor, will this cause a CEL or mess with my emisions smog wise ?

Tape???? they sell O2 bungs to plug them up. It will cause CEL unless you use a cat with an O2 plug and put it there like previous models.

That's a plug I got at NAPA for the extra hole in my GReddy SP2. I have a 1996 with the o2 in the cat, so the o2 bung in the B-Pipe was not necessary. Yes that is a scrap mark at the bottom of the plug bolt...

probably bottomed out, or went on a bump somewhere and scraped it on there.

the 97/98 have an o2 sensor in the b pipe where as the 95/96 have them in the cat. you will need to weld an o2 bung in if there isnt one. some pipes have them and and some dont. if you dont hook up the o2 you will get a CEL, but it will not effect anything.

so basically if I have an o2 sensor connected into my catalytic converter, then I DONT need the Bpipe o2 sensor and I can just stick a bolt in there?

I dont understand..then why did nissan put 2 o2 sensors in the exhaust system, excluding the Ypipe setup?...i need to look under my car but are you telling me theres 4 o2 sensors underneath my car right now ?
