Exhaust Piping Size

Can anyone tell me what size is the diameter of the exhaust piping on a stock 96 Maxima SE? I'm thinking about getting a muffler and don't know what size inlet i should get. It should be the same size as the stock piping though correct? If anyone knows please reply. Thanks.

2 1/4" i think.

Nope. I got a larger diameter... custom labor though.

Yuppers... Stock inlet is 2.25". Any aftermarket muffler with 2.5"- 3" inlet will be fine, any muffler w/ more than 3" inlet (or smaller than stock inlet size) will be trouble
