quick question about a good 60'
quick question about a good 60'
Manual trans only.
well, what I mean is light turns green, you start moving, do you imediately floor it carelessly, or do you press the gas amking sure you don't let it spin off tires...
how about in 2nd gear... do you floor it (crip a little)..
II know my questions sound like someone that cannot drive stick.. but when it come to racing 1/4 it is a differnet story....... I guess....

You can't do anything "carelessly" or your times are going to suck the fat one. What you do depends on how much power your car has and about a million other things. If you are getting a ton of wheelspin you need to modulate the throttle, get better at feathering the clutch, or both. I'm truly not trying to make this post sound snotty but I fear it's coming out that way. It's like riding a bike. You can't read a post about how to ride a bike and then go ride and think everything will be great. You have to just go and try it and you'll probably fall on your **** a few times (or maybe many times) before you get it.
If you just floor it carelessly you're going to spin the tires too much, simple as that. You've got to modulate the throttle or clutch or both if you are on street tires, at least for the first part of first gear. It takes feel and finesse to do it right, you can't read about it and expect to get great 60' times. It just doesn't work.

I know I know... I only went once the the track, but am looking forward to going again when spring comes....
I did get better at the track, my last run was the fastest.... but still sucked...15.2 (y-pipe b-pipe, intake, full interior removed)
I alsmot can't remember how I did it last time I went.
well I guess....I'll have to go many more times...
